Big change in the syllabus of schools and madrasas of Uttarakhand!

The uttarakhand government has decided to include a booklet titled Hamari Virasat and Vibhutiyan in the syllabus of classes 6 to 8 of government, aided schools and recognized madrasas with the aim of increasing awareness about the state movement, culture and great personalities. The proposal was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. With this step, children will not only get information about the history of their state, but this booklet will also be helpful for various competitive examinations.

According to the education Department, this booklet mentions the events related to the state movement of uttarakhand as well as the great personalities who contributed to the society, culture and nation. It includes names like Sridev Suman, Teelu Rauteli, Veerbhad Madho Singh Bhandari, Nain Singh Rawat, Kalu Mehra, state agitator Hansa Dhanai and nagendra Saklani.

Inspirational saga has also been included in the booklet

The inspirational saga of Chaundkot Janshakti Marg has also been included in the booklet. This 33 km long route located in Pauri district is an excellent example of community cooperation and Shramdaan. Apart from this, the story of the shared stove which became a symbol of social harmony in the Budhakedar area of Tehri district in the year 1951 will also be a part of this booklet.

Keeping in mind the aspects of religion and culture, the booklet also describes the association of Lord ram with Uttarakhand. It details the tradition and worship method of ram temples in Garhwal and Kumaon. Mentioning the temple of Mata Sita in Sitonsyu village of Pauri district, it is also told that according to mythological belief, Mata Sita took Bhu-Samadhi here. According to the education Department, this booklet will introduce students to the historical and social figures of Uttarakhand. The prominent personalities included in this are as follows-

Freedom fighters: Kalu Mehra, Veerbhad Madho Singh Bhandari, Surveyor Nain Singh Rawat, Puria Naithani, Veer Kesrichand

State agitators: Hansa Dhanai, Belmati Chauhan, nagendra Saklani, Molu Bhardari, Vipinchandra Tripathi

Literature and art personalities: Mahakavi Chandrakunwar Bartwal, Girish Tiwari 'Girda', Kabutari Devi

Military valor symbols: Kargil martyr Major Rajesh Adhikari, Major vivek Gupta, ashok Chakra winner Gajendra Singh Bisht

Social workers and other important names: Soban Singh Jeena, Gangotri Garbyal, Jasoli Saukiyan, Munshi hari Prasad Tamta, Khushiram Arya, rani Karnavati, Tinchari Mai, Badridatta Pandey.
