Chaos over dirty and broken roads in chandni Chowk and Ballimaran!

Delhi bjp spokesperson praveen Shankar Kapoor has written a letter to PWD and Water Board minister Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma demanding immediate action on sewer blockage, broken roads and poor sanitation in chandni Chowk and Ballimaran assembly constituencies. He said that the condition of areas like Khari Baoli, Naya Bazar, Fatehpuri and Church Mission Road is very bad and needs to be improved immediately.

Condition of big business center is bad

He wrote in his letter that this entire area is the largest wholesale market in the country, where spices, dry fruits, grocery, pickles, jams, edible oil, paan-tobacco, silver work, plastic, chemicals, tires and sweets are traded. Every day, business worth crores of rupees takes place here and the government gets huge taxes, but still the condition of the area is going from bad to worse.

Sewer lines clogged, roads broken, water shortage

praveen Shankar Kapoor said in the letter that whether it rains or not, the sewers in this area are always clogged and dirty water keeps flowing on the roads. The roads of Church Mission Road, Fatehpuri and Khari Baoli have been broken for many years, causing great trouble to the people and traders. Also, due to the negligence of the Water Board, the water supply is often stopped here for 2-3 days and people are forced to buy ground water at high prices.

Allegations of discrimination against public representatives

The bjp spokesperson alleged that since 1998, MLAs of congress or aam aadmi party are being elected from this area, but they only pay attention to Muslim and scheduled caste dominated areas. He said that the MLAs are constantly ignoring the Hindu dominated areas of chandni Chowk and Ballimaran. He said that the trunk sewer line of this area SP Mukherjee Marg, chandni Chowk and Naya Bazaar Drain has not been cleaned for the last 10 years. This is the reason why sewers remain constantly clogged and stinking water keeps flowing on the roads.

MCD's cleanliness system also deteriorated

He told that till 2022 the cleanliness system here was a little better, but after the aam aadmi party councilor was elected in the municipal elections, the cleanliness system also deteriorated. In this area falling under Ward 74, garbage is lying on the roads and no sweeper is seen.
