Now there will be a fine for eating paan masala in Uttar Pradesh assembly. This information has been given by Speaker Satish Mahana. The use of paan masala has been completely banned in the UP assembly. A fine will be imposed on being caught eating paan masala. A provision has been made to fine 1 thousand rupees for being caught eating.
The speaker said that the use of paan masala, gutkha etc. has been banned in the assembly premises with immediate effect. Any dignitary, MLA, employee, officer in the assembly premises will be fined Rs 1000 if they use paan masala gutkha.
Let us tell you that on Tuesday, before the start of the assembly proceedings, as soon as he got the information about paan masala being spit at the entrance of the assembly hall, he immediately went there and ensured cleanliness and condemned this disorderly behavior. After this, while addressing the house, the speaker said in clear words that the assembly is not the responsibility of only one person, but of all of us collectively.
He had said that the video of this undisciplined act is available, but his intention was not to humiliate any member publicly. Despite this, he appealed to all the members that if they see anyone doing this in the future, they should stop him right there and cooperate in maintaining the dignity of the assembly.
