Major accident, only bridge going to Hemkund Sahib broke!
A major accident took place in Govindghat, uttarakhand on tuesday morning. The foot bridge going from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib was completely damaged due to the sudden collapse of a part of the hill. After this accident, the route to Hemkund Sahib and the World heritage Valley of Flowers has been blocked. According to the local people, this incident happened around 10 am, when a large part of the hill broke and fell on the bridge. Fortunately, no pilgrim or local person was present on the bridge during this time, due to which there was no loss of life. However, this has affected the movement of passengers and local people.
The doors of Hemkund Sahib, the holy pilgrimage of the Sikhs, are going to open on 25 May this year. In such a situation, preparations for the journey were going on in full swing, but the collapse of this bridge may now affect the journey.
It is worth noting that in the 2013 disaster, the bridge built earlier at this place was washed away, after which this new bridge was constructed. This bridge was not for the movement of vehicles, but was built for pilgrims and local villagers.
Administration and related departments reached the spot
The gates of Hemkund Sahib are closed right now, so there was not much crowd on this route. At this time only the villagers of Pulna village were traveling by vehicles for three kilometers on this route. After the incident, the administration and related departments have reached the spot. district administration officials said that soon the work of repairing or reconstructing the bridge will be started, so that the journey to Hemkund Sahib can start smoothly. Now the biggest challenge is to repair this route as soon as possible, so that the devotees and tourists going to Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers do not face any kind of trouble. The administration says that soon an alternative route will be arranged, so that the journey is not hindered.
