Elon Musk's recent proposal rejected by Sunita Williams...?
After spending nine months in space, two nasa astronauts sunita williams and Butch Wilmore are going to return to Earth soon. However, both the astronauts cannot return until their colleagues reach the international Space Station (ISS) by next week.
At the same time, before their possible return to Earth, both the astronauts addressed a press conference. During the conference, sunita williams rejected the recent suggestion of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, in which Musk said that the international Space Station should be retired soon instead of 2030 as planned. Williams said, "Many types of scientific research are being conducted in the orbiting lab."
'This place is very amazing' - Williams
Addressing the press conference, sunita williams stressed, "This place is very amazing. So I would say that we are at our peak right now. So I think it is not the right time to say that it should be closed now."
Sunita is very eager to return home
Sunita said that she is very eager to see her Labrador Retrievers. She said that the most difficult thing about an unplanned extended stay is that you have to wait a long time to see your home and family.
She said, "It is like a roller coaster for them, which has become a bit too much for us." Williams emphasized the importance of his mission, saying, "We are just doing what we do every day and every day is very interesting because we are here in space and it is quite fun."
Sunita and Butch went to ISS in june last year
It is worth mentioning that sunita williams and Butch Wilmore left for ISS in june last year after waiting for many years in Boeing's new Starliner capsule, where their mission was to stay for just a week. However, nasa later decided that Starliner was too dangerous to carry anyone to the international Space Station due to its many problems.
After Starliner returned to Earth empty, nasa postponed the return of the two astronauts as SpaceX's new capsule to carry the other astronauts needed more time to be built.
NASA announced last month that the two astronauts would return to the ISS on march 12 and the next crew would be sent on the same spacecraft. However, Williams and Wilmore will remain on the space station for the next week with NASA's Nick Hague and Alexander Gorbunov of the Russian Space Agency before leaving the ISS.
