According to reports, in the DA hike to be held before holi, the government can increase the salary of central employees by 2 percent. After this, it will become 53 to 55 percent of the basic pay. However, the final decision on this will be taken in the cabinet meeting to be chaired by prime minister Narendra Modi. holi is on march 14 this year.
Salary will increase by this much
Last time in october 2024, the DA of central employees was increased by 3 percent. It became effective from July 1, 2024. After this, dearness allowance increased from 50 percent to 53 percent. Pensioners also got DA hike at the same rate. Just like DA is given to government employees, pensioners are also given DR. With the increase in DA by 2 percent, the salary of employees whose basic salary is Rs 18,000 per month will increase by Rs 360 per month from january 1, 2025.
If someone's salary is Rs 30,000 per month and basic pay is Rs 18,000, then he will now get Rs 9,540 as dearness allowance, which is 53 percent of the basic salary. However, after the expected 2 percent increase, the employee will get Rs 9,900, which is Rs 360 more. If the government increases DA by 3 percent, it will increase by Rs 540 to Rs 10,080 per month.
