Ruckus In odisha Residence Over Biju 'Insult': Speaker Adjourns court Cases Twice
Opposition BJD MLAs on friday created a ruckus inside the meeting over alleged disrespect via the bjp authorities to odisha stalwart and previous leader minister Biju Patnaik, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the complaints two times.
As soon as the house commenced its court cases, BJD MLAs stormed into the well and resorted to sloganeering at the same time as protecting placards.
They alleged that the BJP-led Mohan Majhi authorities had "insulted" Biju Babu by means of transferring the panchayati raj Divas celebration to april 24, which had been celebrated on march 5 for the last 32 years in honor of Biju Babu's contribution to strengthening the panchayati raj system.
The leaders talked about how Biju Babu became the primary leader to accord 33 percent reservation to ladies within the three-tier panchayati raj establishments.
"The bjp government even cancelled the holiday on march five; they're indulging in petty politics," said former minister Ranedra Pratap Swain.
BJD mla Arun Sahoo said, "They need to change their mindset. They owe an answer to the human beings as to why they have shifted the Panchyati raj Divas to some other day. The government must roll back its decision."
As the ruckus continued, Speaker Surama Padhy had to adjourn the proceedings two times. Later, BJD MLAs sat on a dharna in front of Biju Patnaik's statue inside the meeting premises. congress MLAs held another demonstration close to the mahatma gandhi statue. Later in the evening, the BJD MLAs visited the governor's house and submitted a memorandum.
