A Faux Call Center Running As microsoft Technical Aid Was Busted In Kolkata.


In a prime leap forward in its crackdown against cyber fraud, West bengal police on saturday busted a faux name center running under the guise of a microsoft technical guide, allegedly defrauding overseas nationals, specifically US citizens, officials stated.


A crew of state police carried out a raid on a flat in Kolkata's Narayanpur on saturday afternoon and found that a collection of people was jogging an unlawful call center.


They had been involved in deceiving sufferers into believing they were receiving proper technical assistance even as they illicitly accumulated money through Hawala transactions, officials added.


At some stage in the interrogation, the faux name center operators didn't produce any valid documentation for the business they have been jogging. Consequently, they had been right now detained, and wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital gadgets, fake case letters purportedly from the US government, and more than one check from the united states have been seized.


Initial investigations discovered that the accused targeted US citizens through bulk emails, prompting victims to call their fraudulent helpline.


Posing as microsoft dealers, they manipulated unsuspecting people into procuring fake technical aid offerings. The fraudsters used solid files and international transactions through Hawala to facilitate their operation, officials informed.


Following the raid, a case was registered in Narayanpur beneath relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 20/21 (organizing and the use of unauthorized telegraph) of the indian Telegraph Act.


Further investigations into the problem are underway.
