rajasthan high court on thursday (March 6) while hearing a case reprimanded an IAS officer by saying that he will be sent to jail directly from the court room. IAS officer Purushottam Sharma (MD of rajasthan Roadways) was reprimanded when he appeared in the court. The judge had also called the guard in the court, but the IAS apologized to the court and assured to complete the court's order in a few hours, then the matter was settled.

On thursday, the hearing on the contempt petition was going on in the court of Judge narendra Singh Dhadha regarding not completing the earlier decision on the petition of a former Roadways employee. During this, when Roadways MD Purushottam Sharma appeared in the court, Judge Dhadha said that you are not taking the court's decision seriously. Today you will go to jail from here. After this, the judge also called the guard in the court.

However, MD Purushottam Sharma immediately apologized to the court after seeing the strict attitude of the court. He said that the court's order will be followed. On this, the court gave him time till 2 o'clock. At the same time, when the court proceedings resumed after lunch at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the Roadways MD gave a cheque of Rs 10.5 lakh due to the employee to the petitioner Roadways employee. After this, the court settled the contempt petition filed by Nemichand Gupta.

What is the whole matter?

Vikas Kabra, the lawyer of petitioner Nemi Chand Gupta, told that his client Nemichand Gupta was given compulsory retirement by Roadways on 24 april 2002, which he challenged in the High Court. On 8 august 2012, the high court gave a decision in favor of the employee and cancelled the order of compulsory retirement of Roadways. After this, Roadways appealed in the double bench against the decision of the single bench.

The double bench rejected the appeal of Roadways, after which Roadways filed a petition in the supreme court against the order of the double bench, but the supreme court also rejected the petition of Roadways on 25 July 2024. While rejecting the petition, the supreme court had said that rajasthan Roadways should comply with the 2012 order of the single bench of the high court by 31 december 2024, but Roadways did not comply with the court order.
