Telangana Cupboard Growth Postponed, Leading To Discontent In Congress?
The inordinate postponement inside the growth of the telangana council of ministers by way of chief minister A. revanth reddy even after 15 months of the congress coming to power in the kingdom has induced a number of discontent inside the birthday celebration, people acquainted with the matter stated.
On december 7, 2023, revanth was sworn in as the leader minister of telangana after the congress gained the meeting elections held inside the kingdom on november 30. Alongside him, 11 members took an oath as cabinet ministers on the same day.
According to the 91st Constitutional Modification Act of 2003, the whole wide variety of ministers in a country cupboard, inclusive of the leader minister, can't exceed 15% of the whole wide variety of members inside the state's legislative meeting.
Whilst the telangana cabinet may have a maximum of 18 ministers, there are six vacancies in the revanth reddy cabinet.
"To begin with, there had been indications in the birthday party that revanth reddy could amplify his cabinet inside 3 months of the formation of the government, and there has been excessive lobbying for the cabinet berths by means of numerous aspirants, many of the MLAs and MLCs. However, it did not happen because the excessive command did not supply the inexperienced sign for the cabinet expansion," a senior Pradesh congress Committee leader said on the condition of anonymity.
Later, there has been a communication in the celebration that the cabinet expansion could take place after the lok sabha election outcomes in june 2024. Though congress fared moderately well by winning 8 out of 17 lok sabha seats in Telangana, the posts within the national cabinet remained vacant.
"The excessive command has been deferring taking a decision at the telangana cabinet growth on one pretext or the alternative. After the Lok Sabha
elections, its recognition became the assembly elections in haryana Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>jammu and kashmir in october and november last year. Even after these election consequences, the high command did not give any nod for the telangana cabinet expansion," the p.c. chief quoted above said.
In the final 15 months, revanth reddy went to New delhi more than 20 times and met the top leaders of the congress, including AICC president mallikarjun Kharge, congress MP rahul Gandhi, and AICC general secretary KC Venugopal and others, seeking approval of the cabinet expansion, but all his efforts have gone in vain, the chief said.
The last time Revanth Reddy put forth the request for the high command nod for cabinet growth was on february five this year. "There is no cupboard enlargement within the immediate destiny. It is able to take a longer time, but it'd be completed with the high command's steerage," the leader minister said after the assembly, adding that the high command could keep in mind numerous diversifications and combos before giving the approval.
The congress chief quoted above stated the dearth of a fully-fledged cupboard is seriously affecting the administration. There are not any ministers for numerous critical topics like domestic, better and school schooling, municipal administration and urban development, social welfare, minority welfare and labour. These types of portfolios, other than many others, are still with the chief minister.
In the meantime, a number of the existing ministers were overburdened with extra portfolios—like N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, who is dealing with important and minor irrigation and civil substances; Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who is asking after finance, making plans, and electricity;
Ponnam Prabhakar, who is dealing with transport and bc welfare; and Duddilla sridhar Babu, who is conserving IT, industries, commerce, and legislative affairs.
"It is normally expected that every district in telangana should have an illustration inside the cabinet. But until now, there's no minister from the blended districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Nizamabad, and Adilabad. a number of the communities, there is no illustration for Muslims inside the nation cabinet," the percent leader stated.
The extended dilly-dallying with the aid of the Congress's excessive command in giving approval to the cabinet growth in telangana has brought about not only an embarrassment
for revanth reddy but also a form of unrest among the various aspirants of the cabinet berth.
Another congress leader acquainted with the development stated that during January, about a dozen MLAs of the birthday party held a secret assembly at the farmhouse of a younger lawmaker that created a furore within the birthday party. The MLAs were manifestly unhappy over the inordinate delay inside the cabinet expansion and the absence of importance given to the young MLAs.
Following this, revanth reddy rushed to New delhi to apprise the bosses of the growing unrest of a number of the party MLAs over the postponement in expansion. However, there has been no response from them, and the leader minister had to name a date for a meeting of the congress Legislature celebration on february 6 to pacify the disgruntled MLAs.
"One of the primary motives for the excessive command's indecisiveness in approving the cabinet enlargement is that there are too many aspirants for the six vacancies. According to reports from New delhi, as many as 32 MLAs had been lobbying with the delhi bosses searching for cabinet berths. And revanth reddy has his very own listing of MLAs to be inducted into the cabinet. The excessive command is obviously in a difficult situation on the way to picking the right candidates," the second congress leader quoted above stated.
"She (newly appointed AICC in-fee of telangana Meenakshi Natarajan) has commenced interacting with all sections of human beings, and she may come out with an answer on filling up the cupboard gaps soon," he added.
