'Deceptive Remarks': DMK mp Moves Privilege Movement Towards dharmendra Pradhan

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) mp Kanimozhi moved a privilege movement in opposition to Union Schooling minister Dharamendra Pradhan on Monday, accusing him of misleading parliament over tamil Nadu's stance on the PM Shri scheme.

Kanimozhi said Pradhan wrongly claimed that the tamil Nadu government, to start with, agreed to signal an MoU for the scheme; however, later took a U-turn. She additionally alleged that the minister misrepresented an assembly between him and tamil Nadu MPs, mentioning they, to start with, supported the scheme and later withdrew, which she refuted as wrong.

The privilege motion is now set to be tested by using the lok sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Pradhan had earlier accused the tamil Nadu authorities of being "cheating" and doing a U-turn on the implementation of the brand new national schooling policy (NEP), which drew sharp complaints from the DMK.

"They are dishonest, and they're ruining the future of the students of tamil Nadu. They're doing politics," he said.

He withdrew sure phrases he had used for tamil Nadu MPs after the lok sabha changed into adjourned after protests from DMK leaders. Pradhan entreated the tamil Nadu authorities to rise above political hobbies for the gain of college students.

Tamil Nadu leader minister MK Stalin, too, slammed Pradhan, saying his remarks contemplated conceitedness.

"You are insulting the human beings of tamil Nadu. Does PM narendra modi take delivery of this?" he said.

The DMK clarified that it had in reality told the minister "we can't take delivery of" the NEP "in full" and the three-language system "isn't acceptable to tamil Nadu.".
