

This scheme will be started again in UP after two years!
The Uttar Pradesh government has re-started another scheme for the marriage of poor girls. This scheme is the marriage grant scheme. Under this scheme, the Uttar Pradesh government is giving a grant of Rs 20,000 to poor families for the marriage of girls.
According to the government order issued by the director of Social Welfare, Social Welfare Department of the Uttar Pradesh government, the Uttar Pradesh government has re-started the Personal marriage Grant Scheme which was closed for the last 2 years. Under this scheme, a grant of Rs 20,000 will be given to the poor families to the beneficiaries of general castes and Scheduled Castes and Tribes. According to Firozabad's Social Welfare Officer Suryakumar Mishra, this scheme has been re-started by the Uttar Pradesh government. Under this scheme, a marriage grant of Rs 20,000 will be given to the guardian of the girl for the marriage of girls in poor families.
This is the condition to avail the scheme
The benefit of this scheme will be directly given to families with an income of Rs 46,080 per annum at the rural level, while in urban areas, persons earning Rs 56,800 per annum can avail the benefits of this scheme.
To avail the benefits of this scheme re-run by the government, the beneficiary will have to apply online, its verification will be done at the development block level. After being verified by the development block officer, the Social Welfare Department will transfer an amount of Rs 20,000 to the letter family to the account of the head of the family.
It is worth noting that till now under the chief minister Mass marriage Scheme, the marriages of the daughters of poor families in every district were being done by the Social Welfare Department on behalf of the government. Now with the resumption of the Individual marriage Grant Scheme, the government has taken steps forward to enable poor families to marry their daughters individually as well.
