He said that the government has instructed the Excise Department to run a special campaign to stop the sale of illegal liquor and drugs. He said, "The chief minister himself ran an awareness campaign in his assembly constituency and took a tough stand against drug abuse. Due to this, an SHO and a policeman were suspended."

He appealed to the public, social organizations and public representatives to run a joint campaign against drug abuse.
