Lessons from stampede! Railways made special arrangements!

Northern Railways has taken several measures to manage the crowd gathering at the stations for the festival of Holi. mini control rooms have been set up for crowd management at 6 stations in delhi division, New delhi, delhi, Nizamuddin, anand vihar, ghaziabad and panipat stations.

Special Duty Officers (SDOs) have also been deployed to monitor train operations and crowd control and coordinate with the mini control. Special holding areas have been created by Northern Railways for security at New delhi and anand vihar railway stations when the crowd increases and ticket booking counters have also been shifted to these holding areas.

Apart from this, it has been decided by the Railways that passengers without tickets are no longer allowed to enter these stations. Only those passengers are allowed to enter the station who have valid tickets.

Special uniform for TTE

Apart from this, TTEs have been provided with special uniforms so that they can be easily identified and help in seamless ticket checking. Walkie talkies have been provided to TTEs and RPF staff for better coordination with mini control. Special arrangements have been made for boarding passengers in special trains.

It has been decided to run holi special trains from platform number 16 of New delhi Railway Station. Apart from this, some trains with high congestion have also been transferred to platform number 16 of New Delhi.

Regular reserved and unreserved holi special trains have been planned from all major stations of delhi division. Till march 9, a total of 14 holi special trains were run from delhi division (5 from New delhi, 6 from anand vihar, 2 from Old delhi Railway Station and 1 holi special train from Sarai Rohilla Station.

Apart from this, Northern Railway, taking lessons from the stampede that happened at New delhi Railway Station last month, has prepared a queue divider (serpentine form) to ensure that no untoward incident happens and to ensure that passengers board the trains smoothly. Along with this, special teams have been deployed so that passengers with reserved tickets can easily board their coaches and no deprived or waitlisted passenger can enter the reserved coach. Along with this, special ticket checking teams have been deployed at New delhi and stations.
