Politics heated up on Darbhanga Mayor's statement?

After the statement of Darbhanga Mayor Anjum Ara, political stir has intensified in Bihar. Reactions are coming from leaders of all political parties. RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said on wednesday (March 12, 2025) that the statement made by Darbhanga Mayor has no place in India. This country will run by its own rules, laws and constitution. Here all religions have the freedom to celebrate their festivals. This is the land of bihar, not Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal. Here Ganga-Yamuna Tehzeeb will remain intact at any cost. The RJD leader further said that here people will celebrate holi and also offer friday prayers of Ramzan. people of both religions will cooperate and respect each other. This is the beauty of this country. In the election year, bjp wants to spread the poison of communalism. This is not possible at any cost.

'The order is absolutely intolerable'

On the other hand, bjp spokesperson neeraj kumar said that the order of the Darbhanga mayor is absolutely intolerable. Be it friday or holi, everything will be celebrated. The tradition of stopping someone because of someone cannot be started. This is wrong. His statement is going to spread frenzy in religious sentiments. This kind of rhetoric should not be done at all. This is intolerable.

'Making an issue out of nothing'

JDU leader Abhishek Jha said that this time holi and friday are on the same day. Some people are giving controversial statements about this. Making an issue out of nothing. people forget that this is Gandhi's country where we are taught the lesson of non-violence. india has given the message of peace to the whole world.

He further said that even before this, festivals of both Hindu and Muslim sides have fallen together, but in bihar both sides have celebrated their festivals peacefully. It is the responsibility of the administration that no anti-social element commits any untoward incident. We request especially the public representatives to refrain from making controversial statements and send a positive message in bihar that we are people who respect all religions. We celebrate every festival together. holi is a festival of colours, we apply colours. We greet each other. Let us tell you that Darbhanga Mayor Anjum Ara has said that ramzan is going on and holi is also Friday. In such a situation, holi should be stopped from 12.30 pm to 2 pm on the day of Holi.
