maharashtra chief minister devendra fadnavis met prime minister Narendra Modi in New delhi on thursday (March 13). During this meeting, many important issues were discussed. In particular, central assistance has been sought to develop Gadchiroli as a mining area.
devendra fadnavis also posted about this meeting on social media site X, in which he wrote, "Feel honored to meet India's visionary, globally popular leader, our prime minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Detailed and important discussions were held with him on many important topics."
Emphasis on developing Gadchiroli as a 'Steel City'
fadnavis further said that this discussion particularly focused on the progress made in developing Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district as a 'Steel City'. The prime minister was informed about the work done towards transforming this area into a major industrial center. Also, support was requested from the central government to develop it as a leading mining hub. Apart from this, the ongoing development work at nagpur Airport was also discussed. fadnavis said that during this meeting, the importance of releasing funds to the local self-government bodies under the 15th Finance Commission as soon as possible was also underlined, on which prime minister Narendra Modi gave positive assurance.
Announcement of WAVES Summit and establishment of IICT in Mumbai
During this discussion, maharashtra got another big gift. Thanking the prime minister, fadnavis said that maharashtra has been given the opportunity to host the 'World Audio, Visual and Entertainment Summit' (WAVES) in mumbai from May 1 to 4. He said that on this occasion the foundation stone of the indian Institute of Creative technology (IICT) will also be laid in mumbai, which will work on the lines of IIT. Financial assistance will also be given by the central government for this important initiative. Expressing his gratitude to prime minister Narendra Modi in his tweet, fadnavis wrote that we are heartily grateful to him for his constant support and encouragement for the development of Maharashtra.
