During the inspection, lg VK Saxena said that to completely eliminate the problem of waterlogging in delhi, instructions have been given to MCD, PWD, DUSIB and other concerned departments to complete the cleaning of all drains before the monsoon. He made it clear that if there is any delay or negligence in this, strict action will be taken. lg said, "Our priority is to ensure that there is no waterlogging on the roads of delhi this year and people can travel without any trouble. All agencies have been instructed to do regular monitoring in mutual coordination and complete the work on time."

Chief Minister's claim - will not let waterlogging happen this time

After the inspection, chief minister Rekha Gupta said that the delhi government is seriously ensuring that the people of the capital do not have to face the problem of waterlogging during the monsoon. She said, "Until the major drains of delhi are completely cleaned and their water carrying capacity is not increased, the problem of waterlogging will persist. Therefore, the government has inspected six major drains, including Barapula and Sunehri Pul drains." He further said that lack of coordination between various agencies is a major reason for waterlogging. To overcome this, the Flood and Irrigation Department has been given special responsibility so that all the drains are cleaned on time.
