

Exercise for annual transfer session begins in Uttarakhand!
The exercise has intensified at the administrative level for the annual transfer session 2025-26 in the state. The Department of Personnel and Vigilance has directed all the departments to take action as per the timetable prescribed under the uttarakhand State Act 2017. The transfer process will formally start from april 1 and transfer orders will be issued by june 10.
For this, transfer committees will be constituted at the government, department, division and district level. Lalit Mohan Raiyal, Additional Secretary, Department of Personnel and Vigilance, has directed all the Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners and district Magistrates to complete the necessary preparations regarding the transfer process. He clarified that under the Act, all departments will have to take action within the stipulated time limit.
What will happen when?
A phased process has been fixed for the entire transfer session under the Transfer Act. Which is mentioned below date wise. By march 31, the departments will have to identify the accessible and inaccessible areas as well as the available vacant posts. By april 1, transfer committees will be formed at the government, department, division and district level. By april 15, the list of accessible and inaccessible workplaces, eligible employees and potential vacant posts for each cadre will have to be uploaded on the departmental website. By april 20, options will be sought from the employees for 10 desired places, so that the employees can get the opportunity to transfer as per their choice. By april 30, applications for transfer will be invited on the basis of request at the departmental level. By May 15, all options or application forms will be received from eligible employees.
The details of the options or applications received by May 20 will be made public on the departmental website. From May 25 to june 5, the transfer committees will meet and send recommendations to the competent authority. Transfer orders will be issued by the competent authority by june 10.
