Yogi government will give a new look to this haunted place!

yogi government has taken another important step towards the conservation and revival of the historical heritage of Uttar Pradesh. The government has started the process of converting the Butler Palace in lucknow into a 'book cafe'. It will not just be a book cafe, but will also act as a cultural and historical center. Exhibitions, workshops, art galleries and various cultural activities will be organized here. This historic building was built in 1915 by raja Mahmudabad in memory of Sir Spencer Harcourt Butler, the then Deputy Commissioner of Awadh province. Over time, this building became a victim of neglect. Now the yogi government has decided to develop it as a center of culture and heritage. LDA is doing conservation work

Making the vision of chief minister yogi Adityanath a mission, the lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has started the process of preserving this historical heritage and rejuvenating it. For this, LDA has formed a team of experts, which will give it a new look under the 'Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model'.

Under the project, Butler Palace will be developed as a modern book cafe and cultural center by march 2025. During this, necessary arrangements like structural repairs, preservation of external appearance, upgradation of infrastructure and lighting will be made. Its main objective is to connect local people and tourists with the heritage of lucknow and give them a unique experience of study and cultural activities.

What will be special in the book cafe?

Study material and books as well as snacks and beverages will be available here. Coaching institutes will be taken help to organize literary and cultural activities. Exhibitions of local artists, craft fairs and discussion sessions on historical topics will be organized. A special art gallery will also be set up in the palace, in which artifacts related to the history and cultural heritage of lucknow will be displayed. The history of lucknow and interesting stories related to it will be shown through light and sound shows.

Butler Palace will not be limited to just a book cafe, but it will be developed as a multipurpose cultural center. Art exhibitions, film screenings, workshops, craft fairs and exhibitions of local products will also be organized here. The government aims to preserve this historic building in a modern form and make it a center of attraction for youth and art lovers.
