Big decision regarding delhi Chief Minister's residence?

During the assembly elections, bjp had raised the issue of former cm Arvind Kejriwal's official residence and called it 'Sheesh Mahal'. bjp had announced that if it came to power, the cm would not live in that residence but it would be opened to the public. But now information is coming out that it is being considered to make it a state guest house.

To intensify the attack on Aam Aadmi Party, bjp had also released a video related to 'Sheesh Mahal' 6, Flag Staff Road, about which it was claimed that arvind kejriwal had spent crores of rupees in its renovation while being the CM. bjp had said that kejriwal calls himself a common man but he spent crores of rupees on the government bungalow.

This claim behind building the guest house

According to the indian Express report, a government official said that delhi needs a guest house where dignitaries can stay. He said, "Delhi does not have a guest house like other states. Considering its area and location, it is being considered to convert it into a guest house." This residence is in the Civil Lines area where raj Bhavan, delhi Legislative assembly and secretariat are located. The official also said that in the 90s, a nearby property 33 Sham Nath Marg was made a state guest house. But after three-four years this idea was abandoned and since then there is no state guest house in Delhi. kejriwal lived in this bungalow from 2015 to 2024. At the same time, the bungalow at 6 Flag Staff Road in which kejriwal used to live was built in 1942. kejriwal shifted to this residence with his family in 2015. His family was living in it till october 2024. AAP had decided to repair it citing the roof collapse during the 2020 monsoon.
