What did leader of Opposition Atishi say in the orientation program?

Senior aam aadmi party leader and leader of Opposition Atishi addressed the two-day orientation program organized in the house on tuesday for all the members of the newly formed delhi Assembly. She said that I hope that all of us will live up to the expectations of the people of delhi and fulfill our responsibility of sitting in the House. We should sit in the house with the responsibility that whatever we say on behalf of the people, people will read and see it not only today but for hundreds of years.

She said that the british gave us the right to vote, but did not give us the right to take decisions. For this, millions of people of the country sacrificed their lives, only then we got independence. With the power to take decisions given by baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar's Constitution, we are all representing millions of people of delhi and people are looking at us with great hope.

leader of Opposition Atishi congratulated all the MLAs in the house and said that the people of delhi have shown their trust in us 70 people and sent us to represent them in this Assembly. Sitting in this house is not just a matter of dignity and pride, but sitting in this house is a huge responsibility. assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta and lok sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh reminded all of us of this responsibility and presented the history of the house before us.

Atishi said that when the british gave the right to vote to the people of india for the first time in this House. Then the right to one vote was started. Then Lala Lajpat Rai, Pandit madan Mohan Malviya, Motilal Nehru, Vitthal Bhai patel were sitting in this House. In this house, they raised their voice for India's independence. 150 years have passed, but whatever was remembered in this house today is written in history books and we all remember it. Atishi said that whatever we say in this house, whatever we say on behalf of the people, people will read and see it not just today but for hundreds of years. We all have to sit in this house with this responsibility. When Lala Lajpat Rai, Vitthal Bhai patel, Pandit madan Mohan Malviya used to sit here and talk about independence. The thing to remember is that they had the right to speak, but at that time the british did not give them the right to take decisions. Whatever act was passed in this house, the british had a monopoly on it. Hundreds, lakhs of people of this country sacrificed themselves for the right to take decisions, only then this country got independence.
