delhi bjp President Virendra Sachdeva has said in an important statement that in the ongoing CCTV installation case against former minister Satyendra Jain, the acb had completed the investigation of the Rs 7 crore bribe case from BEL in 2023. However, due to the cover-up by the kejriwal government, the FIR was not being registered. Now with the registration of the FIR, it is expected that more scams related to the installation of CCTV will be exposed.
In this statement, Sachdeva said that this case is just the beginning. He said that in 2017-18, the kejriwal government had given the contract to install CCTV in delhi to a private company BEL, the total value of which is said to be Rs 571 crore. Due to the delay in this contract, a fine of Rs 16 crore was also imposed on the company, which was waived by former minister Satyendra Jain in a few days by taking Rs 7 crore. This matter had already been exposed by many departmental sources. Manoj Tiwari, the then president of delhi bjp, had also lodged a complaint in this matter. Many people believe that irregularities and bribery scams are common in such contracts, which were being suppressed.
Questions have been raised on the work being done by the government in the matter of installing CCTV cameras. Many times it has also come to light that the equipment and means of surveillance installed for security also get caught in corruption cases.
