The decision follows a high-level meeting in delhi on Monday, where chief minister A revanth Reddy, deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and tpcc president Mahesh Kumar Goud held discussions with the congress high command. The meeting, which lasted nearly two hourswas attended by AICC president mallikarjun Kharge, leader of Opposition rahul Gandhi, and AICC general secretary KC Venugopal. The congress leadership assessed the credentials of potential candidates before approving the expansion.

For months, senior telangana leaders have urged the party leadership to expedite the cabinet expansion process. With six vacancies currently in the state cabinet, the move is expected to strengthen governance and accommodate key party leaders in ministerial roles.

The upcoming expansion is seen as a significant political step, aligning with the state's efforts to bolster its administrative framework under the congress government.
