From when to when was he CM?
There was a big upheaval in the politics of maharashtra when in june some shiv sena MLAs under the leadership of Eknath Shinde broke away from uddhav Thackeray. uddhav Thackeray's shiv sena broke up. This political development attracted the attention of the whole country. After separating from uddhav thackeray, he decided to form a new government with BJP. After this news came out, it was believed that devendra fadnavis would become the Chief Minister. But at the last moment Eknath Shinde's name was announced. He took oath as cm on 30 june 2022.
The tenure of cm was about two and a half years
In the assembly elections held last year, bjp emerged as the largest party in the Mahayuti. The suspense started regarding the post of CM. But everything became clear on 28 november 2024. After a long round of talks, the name of devendra fadnavis was approved. Eknath Shinde submitted his resignation from the post of cm to the governor on 28 November. But he continued to work as the caretaker cm until fadnavis became the CM. On 5 december 2024, devendra fadnavis took oath as cm for the third time. In this way, Eknath Shinde remained the cm of maharashtra for about two and a half years.
He is a five-time MLA
Eknath Shinde has been winning elections from Kopri-Pachpakhadi assembly seat of thane district of Maharashtra. He won the assembly elections in the years 2004, 2009, 2014, 2019 and 2024. thane is considered the stronghold of deputy cm Eknath Shinde.
