Ashok Gehlot surrounded the rajasthan government?
The Bhajanlal government has reduced the number of municipal corporations by overturning the decision of the previous congress government. Now the number of municipal corporations in rajasthan has come down from 13 to 10. ashok gehlot is furious over this decision and is reminding cm Bhajanlal of the gujarat model.
Former cm ashok gehlot, venting his anger on X, said, "In january 2025, the gujarat government increased the number of municipal corporations there and created 9 new municipal corporations, the reason for which was said to be accelerating urban development. bjp governments consider the gujarat model to be ideal, but the bjp government of rajasthan considers this gujarat model a complete failure."
The government is moving in the opposite direction - Gehlot
He further said, "That is why the number of municipal corporations, municipalities created during our government in proportion to the population for planned urban development is being reduced here. This will probably be the first example in the country in which the government is moving in the opposite direction in the course of development.''
Merger of municipal corporations in these districts
Under the new decision, there will be only one municipal corporation in Jaipur, jodhpur and Kota. Earlier, there used to be two municipal corporations in these three cities. A notification has also been issued regarding this. Municipal Corporation Greater and Municipal Corporation heritage have been merged in Jaipur. Municipal Corporation North and South have been merged in jodhpur and Kota. The number of municipal corporations was increased in the Gehlot government.
ashok gehlot had increased the number of municipal corporations in 2019. In such a situation, on the decision of the new government, the congress says that the government is ignoring the interests of the public. In the Bhajanlal government, decisions have been taken not only regarding municipal corporations but also regarding districts. ashok gehlot had created 17 new districts in his five-year tenure, out of which nine have now been abolished. While three divisions have also been abolished.
