Big announcement for private companies, cm Naib took this decision!
The haryana government on sunday (March 30) declared a holiday on march 31 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr for private offices or institutions which follow the list of gazetted holidays prescribed for government offices. Earlier, a government notification issued on thursday said that instead of gazetted holiday on march 31 on Eid-ul-Fitr this year in haryana, the system of optional holiday will be effective.
The notification said that this amendment has been made because march 29 and 30 are weekends and march 31 is the last day of the financial year (2024-25). These orders will remain in place and as per the amendments issued in this notification on sunday, if an employee has already exhausted his optional leaves, he will be allowed an additional optional leave.
It said that apart from this, if some private offices/institutions follow the list of gazetted holidays prescribed for government offices, then all such offices/institutions will have a holiday on march 31, 2025. After the haryana government's decision to declare Eid as an optional holiday instead of a gazetted holiday, congress mla from Nuh Aftab ahmed raised the matter in the state assembly on Friday.
On this, chief minister Naib Singh saini had told the house that this decision was taken because march 31 is the last day of the financial year. He had said that it should not be made an issue. He had said that since march 31 is the last day of the financial year, it is necessary for the departments to settle various financial transactions. saini had said that there is no restriction on anyone taking optional leave on Eid.
Let us tell you that a calendar of holidays was released by the haryana government on the New Year. It had three holidays in the month of march this year. This included holi on march 14, Martyrs' Day on march 23 and Eid-ul-Fitr on march 31. The holidays of holi and Martyrs' Day have passed, but before the Eid holiday, the government had issued an order and cancelled it.
