TADA court's big decision regarding tiger Memon and Yakub's property!

A special TADA court has given a big decision in the 1993 mumbai serial bomb blasts case. The court has ordered to hand over 14 immovable properties of tiger Memon, Yakub Memon and their family to the central government. These include several flats, vacant plots, offices and shops. These properties were attached in 1994.

At present, these properties are with the court receiver of bombay High Court. tiger Memon is the main accused in the bomb blasts and he is still absconding. His brother Yakub Memon was found guilty in this case and was hanged in 2015.

Which properties will be handed over to the central government?

The properties that will be handed over to the government include Yakub's flat in Alameda Park, Bandra (West), a vacant plot and flat in Santacruz, two flats in Kurla, an office on Mohammed ali Road, a shop, flat and land in Dongri, an open plot in Mahim, three shops in manish Market, a building and plot in Zaveri Bazaar, and a garage in Mahim. These properties are owned by Abdul Razzaq Memon, Issa Memon, Yakub Memon and Rubina Memon.

100 people were convicted in the first phase of the trial that ended in 2007. Twelve of them, including Yakub Memon, were awarded the death penalty. The supreme court commuted the sentence of 11 to life imprisonment. Yakub Memon was convicted of conspiring and financing the blast. He was hanged on 30 July 2015. 6 others were convicted in 2017. Two of them were awarded the death penalty. On march 12, 1993, serial bomb blasts took place in different areas of mumbai, in which 257 people lost their lives and more than 700 people were injured. This terrorist incident shook the country and the world.
