Discord in Nitish Kumar's party over Waqf Amendment Bill! 

JDU has supported the Waqf Amendment Bill. Muslim leaders are angry with this support of the party. JDU MLC Ghulam Gaus and party's national general secretary Ghulam Rasool Baliyavi have also expressed their displeasure. Meanwhile, there is news that JDU leader and assembly election candidate Mohammad Qasim has resigned from cm Nitish Kumar's party.

Mohammad Qasim has sent his resignation to JDU national president and chief minister Nitish Kumar. The reason for the resignation is said to be the support to the Waqf Amendment Bill. Although this is the beginning, but the way Muslim leaders are angry in JDU, many big faces can leave the party in the coming time. Ghulam Rasool Baliyavi can also leave JDU. The pressure of Muslim organizations has started increasing on the Muslim leaders of JDU. Pressure is being created by Muslim organizations and society.

What did Mohammad Qasim write in the letter?

Mohammad Qasim was also the district (East Champaran) spokesperson. He has also informed JDU state president Umesh Kushwaha and district president Manju Devi about his resignation through a letter. In the letter written to Nitish Kumar, Qasim has said, "Millions of indian Muslims like us had unwavering faith that you are the flag bearer of a purely secular ideology, but now this belief has been broken." Qasim further writes, "I am deeply saddened by the manner and style with which Lalan Singh gave his statement and supported this bill. The Waqf Bill is against us indian Muslims. We cannot accept it under any circumstances. This bill violates many fundamental rights of the Constitution. Through this bill, indian Muslims are being humiliated and disgraced. At the same time, this bill is also anti-Pasmanda, which neither you nor your party realizes. I regret having given many years of my life to the party. Hence, I am voluntarily resigning from the primary membership and other responsibilities of the party."
