Prime minister Narendra Modi, while attending the sixth BIMSTEC summit in Bangkok, the capital of thailand, along with other BIMSTEC leaders on friday (April 4), expressed commitment to strengthen cooperation in various fields.

Prime minister Modi shared a post on the social media platform X. In this post, the prime minister wrote, "At the summit held in Bangkok, thailand, with fellow BIMSTEC leaders, we reaffirm our commitment to enhance cooperation in diverse fields. wish that our efforts bring positive change in the lives of the people."


PM Modi held bilateral talks with the head of Myanmar's military regime

Earlier, prime minister Modi met Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the head of Myanmar's military regime, during the BIMSTEC summit. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and India's support after the devastating earthquake in Myanmar.

PM Modi wrote on Twitter, "Met Senior General Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar on the sidelines of BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok. Once again, expressed condolences on the loss of lives and property in the wake of the recent earthquake. india is making every effort to support our sisters and brothers in Myanmar in this difficult time."

India is providing humanitarian assistance under 'Operation Brahma' after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar. More than 3,000 people lost their lives in the earthquake.

On thursday (April 3), prime minister Modi held bilateral talks with Thailand's prime minister Patongtarn Shinawatra at the government House in Bangkok. The two leaders agreed to elevate bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership.
