

Can any land of Waqf Board be sold? where this property is used?
Yesterday kiren rijiju introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha. After a long discussion that lasted for more than 12 hours, it was finally passed by the lok sabha at 2 o'clock in the night. It got 288 votes in its favour and 232 votes against it. While the ruling party MPs supported this bill, the opposition has strongly opposed this amendment. AIMIM mp Asaduddin Owaisi tore the bill after presenting his point. Can the land of that Waqf, which is facing so much opposition and resentment, be sold? If not, then where is that property used.
Meaning of Waqf
Waqf simply means any property or object donated in the name of Allah, which is donated only for the purpose of charity. Any Muslim can donate his movable or immovable property in the name of Waqf. Once a property or land is transferred to Waqf, then the ownership of that person ends and it cannot be made a non-Waqf property again. Waqf properties are maintained by a Waqf Board in every state.
Can Waqf property be sold?
There are a total of 32 Waqf Boards across the country, there are also two Shia Waqf Boards in UP and Bihar. Waqf Board is considered a legal entity, which looks after the management of the property. No Waqf property can be sold or leased. Donating this property means benefiting Muslims or other people. Many times people transfer their land in the name of Waqf. These are used for public interest.
Where is Waqf property used?
Now the question is where is Waqf property used? For example, if someone has two houses or is a wealthy Muslim, he can donate one of his houses or land to Waqf. Now the Waqf Board can use this land to build a mosque, a cemetery, a hospital or to settle a poor person there. people can donate any of their movable or immovable property like land, books, farm, library, home or any other thing used in the Waqf.
