Donald trump has dealt a big blow to America!

America has suffered a major blow due to President Donald Trump's new 25 percent import tariff policy. In fact, Jaguar land rover (JLR), the luxury car subsidiary of Tata Motors, one of India's largest auto companies, has stopped the supply of Jaguar and land rover cars made in britain to America for the time being.

What is the whole matter?

According to a Bloomberg report, JLR is temporarily stopping the shipment of cars to America from Monday, so that it can find a way to deal with the new import tax. Under the new policy of the trump administration, now a direct 25 percent tax will be levied on vehicles imported into the US, which has come into effect from Thursday.

Jaguar land rover already has a stock of vehicles in the US for a few months, which will not be charged this new tax. But due to the imposition of tax on new shipments, the company has currently pressed the stop-button.

What did the company say?

According to The Times report, JLR says it is reworking its strategy in this changed trade environment. The company said in a statement on its website, "Our luxury brands have global appeal and we are able to adapt to changing markets. Our priority at this time is to provide better service to our global clients and prepare ourselves according to the new trading conditions of America." Jaguar land rover sold a total of 4.3 lakh vehicles in the last 12 months till march 2024, of which about 25 percent were sold in North America alone. In january 2024, the company reported that its quarterly pre-tax profit had declined by 17 percent. That is, the company is already under pressure. Tata Motors has bought the company Tata Motors bought Jaguar land rover from American company ford in 2008. Now when the US trade policies are getting strict again, this is being considered a big blow for Tata and the impact of this blow is not just limited to UK or US, it can also impact India's credibility and strategic investments.
