The central government announced on 7 april 2025 that after 12 o'clock tonight, you will have to pay 50 rupees more for booking LPG cylinders. The biggest thing is that these increased rates will be applicable to both Ujjwala Yojana and non-Ujjwala. Let us now understand that if the gas cylinder is booked before 12 o'clock tonight, can 50 rupees per cylinder be saved.
What does the rule say?
Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Hardeep Singh puri, while increasing the price of LPG gas, said that the new rates of LPG gas will come into effect from 12 o'clock tonight. Now in such a situation, many people have this question in their mind that if we book the gas before 12 o'clock at night, will we get LPG cylinder 50 rupees cheaper.
The answer is yes. That is, if you book gas now and pay for it in advance, then you will get LPG gas 50 rupees cheaper. But, if you just book gas and do not make a prepayment, then the bill will be generated tomorrow morning. In such a situation, the amount written in the bill will be according to tomorrow, so you will have to pay 50 rupees more.
What did Hardeep Singh puri say?
Union Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Hardeep Singh puri informed that this increase in the price of LPG cylinder will be applicable to both the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and general consumers. Now the gas cylinder available under the Ujjwala Yojana has increased from Rs 500 to Rs 550, while other consumers will now have to pay Rs 853 instead of 803. Union minister puri said that this increase is not permanent. The government reviews it every 2 to 3 weeks and further changes in prices are possible. He also clarified that the burden of increased excise duty on petrol and diesel will not be put on the general public.
