The central government has increased the price of LPG cylinders by fifty rupees. In this context, minister Hardeep puri said that we will review it in the coming days. The increased prices will come into effect from tomorrow. Under this, the cylinders of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will increase from Rs 500 to Rs 550. At the same time, the normal domestic cylinder will increase from Rs 803 to Rs 853.
At present, 14.2 kg gas is available in lucknow for Rs 855.20. Now its prices will increase. During a press conference in Delhi, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Hardeep Singh puri said, 'The price of LPG per cylinder will increase by Rs 50. From 500 it will become 550 (for PMUY beneficiaries) and for others it will increase from Rs 803 to Rs 853. This is a step which we will review later.'
Companies have to be compensated Rs 43,000 crore - Minister
The minister said, 'We review it every 2-3 weeks. Therefore, the burden of the increase in excise duty that you have seen will not fall on the consumers on petrol and diesel. The purpose of that excise duty increase is to compensate the oil marketing companies Rs 43,000 crore, which they have lost on the gas share.'
In a press conference, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas minister Hardeep Singh puri said that we have come a long way in terms of LPG. There was a time when you had to stand and wait for LPG cylinder and now you can just SMS or go to the app and register. I can proudly say that today we have 100% LPG per household coverage.
