In its relentless efforts to destroy the remnants of the separatist and terrorist ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, srinagar police has conducted searches as part of the ongoing investigation of cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The search was conducted after obtaining a search warrant from the NIA court srinagar in case FIR No. 01/2024 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act relating to banned organizations.
srinagar police conducted searches at the houses of Peer Saifullah (jailed separatist) and Advocate Ashraf laya in Baramulla, in srinagar and Pulwama, in the UAPA case.
Searches in connection with the investigation of FIR 01/24 of a case registered under Sections 10, 13 UAP Act at Rajbagh police station were conducted by Executive Magistrate First Class at the houses of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat members Bashir Ahmad Bhat alias Peer Saifullah s/o ali Mohammad Bhat resident Jadoora Pulwama presently lodged in tihar jail and Mohammad Ashraf laya s/o Rasool laya resident Jamia Qadeem Baramulla.
During the search, incriminating material including books, letter heads, pamphlets and letters relating to the investigation of the case were recovered from the house of Bashir Ahmad Bhat and they were seized in the presence of Magistrate and independent witness as per due legal procedures.
Investigation in the case is ongoing. J&K police is committed to maintain peace and security in the city. Anyone found furthering the agenda of violence, disruption or unlawful activities will face strict legal consequences under the law.
