Whom did kapil sibal give credit for bringing Rana to India?

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is questioning Tahawwur Rana, accused of the 2008 mumbai terror attack (26/11 mumbai Terror Attack). Rana was brought to india on thursday (April 10). Regarding this, senior lawyer and rajya sabha MP kapil sibal said that I congratulate the government that today Tahawwur Rana was brought to india and NIA was given 18 days of custody. He said, "NIA was formed during the UPA government. chidambaram was the home minister then. A case was registered. Against David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Rana. Tahawwur Rana was arrested in Chicago. He was released on some charges. He was earlier in the pakistan Army and then took Canadian citizenship. We opposed this and we tried to take him into custody.''

Charge sheet was filed in 2009 - Kapil Sibal

Sibal said, ''Charge sheet was filed in 2009. NIA team reached America and during this time Headley was in custody. And on our request, NIA team got a chance to interrogate him. During this, it came to light that Tahawwur Rana opened an immigration center in India. Tahawwur Rana then said that Headley would be its head. Due to this, Headley kept coming here for two years. This was a complete conspiracy. Which came to light during NIA's interrogation.'' He said, ''After this, continuous efforts were made for extradition. But now this success was achieved. Both the UPA government and the current government tried to bring Tahawwur Rana to india today.''

wanted to bring David Headley to india - Kapil Sibal

kapil sibal said, ''Wherever there is terrorism, governments should raise their voice together, but governments have become selective. We wanted David Headley to be brought to India. He was a double agent. He was sentenced to 35 years in pre-bargaining. We also hold America guilty in this case. Whatever happened is corrected. We should fight terrorism together.'' He said, ''The government that wants to fight against terrorism should not be selective. The government should make arrangements for a fast-track hearing on this. Custodial interrogation will also reveal which people from pakistan were involved.''

Sibal said, ''It was the UPA government's effort that NIA got everything from Headley during interrogation. Which will be presented as evidence in the court. The government also met Hillary Clinton in this matter. Many efforts were made then, the result of which has come out today. We should be happy that he could be brought to India. There should be no politics on this.
