The police investigation revealed that the engines have been disappearing from the heavy industry for the past three years.
The penugonda police, who took up the investigation of the case as a challenge after the complaint filed by the Kia management, found out how the entire affair went. It was found that some employees who worked in the Kia industry had cleverly removed the engines and first moved them from tamil Nadu to Delhi. The police investigation revealed that the engines that were to reach the penugonda plant from chennai port were sometimes moved from there without unloading them from the containers. In fact, the engines brought from chennai port were supposed to be stored in the Glovis company godown. But, the police say that 900 engines were sent back to tamil Nadu in the same containers they brought without reaching there.
The police found that the engines that were transported in this way were initially sold to tamil Nadu from there to a businessman in Delhi. Now, they say that the police will go to delhi to arrest the businessman. It is also said that it is difficult to recover the engines that were stolen and sold. It is said that some of the engines were converted into spare parts and sold, while others were used in fishing boats and sugarcane juice-making machines. Therefore, it is not known where the respective engines are.
