The proposed drills, which were part of the routine military engagements between the two countries, were called off following New Delhi's intervention, the sources said. It is noteworthy that during prime minister Modi's recent visit to sri lanka, india, sri lanka, and the United Arab Emirates signed an agreement to develop Trincomalee as an energy hub.
