His father Tarsem Singh has cornered the punjab government over extension of detention of Khadoor Sahib mp Amritpal, who is lodged in Dibrugarh jail under National Security Act (NSA). Amritpal Singh's father said in a press conference that the decision to extend detention under NSA despite completion of two years is a blot on democracy. This is the first time that NSA has been imposed on someone three times in a row. He said, "After becoming an mp, Amritpal Singh wants to raise the voice of the people of his constituency in Parliament. The punjab government wants to hold Amritpal responsible for every problem of the state. people are being forced to violate the law."

punjab government failed on every front - Tarsem Singh

Tarsem Singh further said, "The punjab government has failed on every front. Murders and ransoms are being taken every day. Dictatorship was done with the farmers, now the farmers are not allowing them to go to the village. Murders are happening in punjab and the chief minister is dancing. Amritpal's entry into politics is the government's concern. They feel that people are coming in large numbers to our rallies. In a democracy, people have to take a decision.''

Appeal to Shri Akal Takht Sahib and SGPC

Amritpal Singh's father appealed to the Jathedar Shri Akal Takht Sahib, SGPC and human rights organizations to raise their voice against this atrocity. He said, ''Amritpal's life is in danger. If anything happens to him, punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and the country's home minister amit shah will be responsible. The Jathedar will meet Shri Akal Takht Sahib and the SGPC President.'' He further said, ''The administration is saying that the law and order situation can worsen due to his activities. They should tell which situation is normal first. This NSA is being extended due to the public support being received from the people. The political parties that are not speaking against the NSA detention being extended again on Amritpal, it means that they are feeling unsafe from Amritpal. Our party 'Waris punjab De' will contest the SGPC elections.
