Senior delhi BJP leader and spokesperson praveen Shankar Kapoor has demanded from the delhi Municipal Corporation that immediate action should be taken against dilapidated and illegally constructed high-rise buildings in the city. He said that thousands of old and dangerous houses in delhi cause fatal accidents every year.
Kapoor appealed to Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashwani Kumar to create a dangerous building department in all areas and declare the houses with fifth-sixth floor as dangerous and ban their sale and registration.
Statements of 'AAP' leaders are just a show
praveen Shankar Kapoor targeted the aam aadmi party (AAP) while referring to the recent accident in Mustafabad. He said that the statements of 'AAP' leaders are just a show. According to the rules in delhi, construction is allowed only up to the ground floor and three floors, but illegal constructions of fourth, fifth and sixth floors are common in Muslim-dominated areas. He alleged that between 2015 and 2025, illegal constructions have increased in these areas at the behest of AAP MLAs and councillors.
praveen Shankar Kapoor claimed that whenever the Municipal Corporation tried to stop illegal construction, AAP MLAs like Haji Yunus, Abdul Rehman, Amanatullah Khan, Imran Hussain, Somdat and Shuaib Iqbal incited the crowd and protested. He demanded from the Municipal Corporation that dilapidated houses should be demolished by giving notice so that accidents can be prevented in future.
