

After the tragic accident of the collapse of a four-storey building in Muzaffarabad area of Dayalpur in Mustafabad, delhi, Lieutenant governor VK Saxena has ordered a magisterial probe into the entire matter. The accident took place on the morning of april 19, 2025, when most of the people were sleeping. In this incident, 11 people died on the spot, while many others were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals, where they are undergoing treatment.
Debris removal work still continues
After this incident, administrative help immediately swung into action and relief and rescue work was started. Teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and delhi Fire service (DFS) reached the spot and an operation was started to rescue the people buried under the debris. The work of removing the debris is still going on and it is being speculated that some people may still be trapped under the debris.
Instructions to submit report within 15 days
In view of this serious accident, the Lieutenant governor has entrusted the district Magistrate of North-East delhi with the responsibility of conducting a detailed investigation. He has been instructed to submit his report within 15 days. The purpose of the investigation is to find out the real reason behind the incident and if there has been negligence at any level, then it can be identified.
Was the building built illegally?
Initial information has revealed that the building in which this accident took place was built illegally. The construction work was done without the necessary permission and engineering standards, which raises questions about its strength. Keeping this in mind, the Lieutenant governor has given clear instructions to the Municipal Corporation (MCD) to take strict action against those officers posted at the regional level, who did not perform their responsibilities properly and due to this negligence such a big accident happened.
