Whenever prime minister Narendra Modi addresses the country or the world from a big stage, his confidence and fluent way of speaking impresses everyone. But have you ever wondered how he is able to give such long and precise speeches without getting stuck? In fact, many times opposition leaders have blamed a technical device teleprompter for his confidence. This small device looks as normal as it works.

What is a teleprompter?

Teleprompter is a device that is installed in front of the camera in the form of a transparent glass. In this device, the words being spoken during the speech keep scrolling from bottom to top. The person giving the speech reads his words by looking directly at that glass, due to which he appears to be speaking while looking into the eyes of the audience, while in reality he is reading the script. This is the reason that when PM Modi gives a speech and a glass-like panel is seen in front of him, many people get confused that maybe it has been installed for his security. But in reality it is a teleprompter.

Who operates this device?

This device i.e. teleprompter is either controlled by the person giving the speech himself or a technical expert sitting behind the camera operates it. Sometimes, if needed, the operator speeds up or slows down the speed of these words so that the speaker can read comfortably.

How much does it cost?

Now talking about the price, there is no fixed price of a teleprompter. Its price depends on the quality, size and brand of the device. But if you want to buy a basic model, then its starting price starts from around Rs 50,000. The price of high-end models can go up to lakhs of rupees. Although there is no official information available about the price of the teleprompter used by prime minister Modi, it can definitely be said that it is a very high-tech device which makes his speech more effective.
