23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams will soon retire from tennis. This veteran player gave this information on social media on Tuesday. Williams said she is thinking of quitting tennis after the US Open, the last Grand Slam tournament of the year. Serena won the US Open tournament for the first time in 1999.



Williams has not been playing tennis in her old style for a long time. Apart from this, she is not playing tennis tournaments continuously. "I don't like the word retire. I would call it the evolution of life. I am thinking about the next step." The 40-year-old tennis legend said in a post on Instagram, "There comes a time in life when we have to decide to move in a different direction."
