In a generous move during the holi season, the Tripura government has decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees. chief minister Manik Saha announced a 5 percent hike in DA for state employees, effective from january 1, 2024. This decision will also include the disbursement of arrears to both employees and pensioners.
Addressing the Assembly, chief minister Manik Saha stated that approximately 1.06 lakh employees and 82 thousand pensioners will benefit from this DA increase. The move will impose an additional burden of around Rs 500 crore on the state government's treasury. Despite the financial implications, the chief minister expressed happiness in making this announcement and emphasized the government's commitment to the welfare of its employees.
With this hike, state employees and pensioners in Tripura will now receive a 25 percent DA.
