From 1875 to 1902 there lives The sage of Narayanavaram Sri Sorakaya Swami who lived in Narayanavaram.
His Sajeeva Samadhi is located at Narayanavaram, right opposite the ancient Kalyana venkateswara swamy Temple, located in  Puttur, chittoor District,  Andhra Pradesh.
The Sage Sorakai Ramaswami Sorakaya or Sorakai is the vernacular name for bottle gourd or Calabash), so-called for carrying Sorakai shells of which he used for eating and drinking purposes.
Hence he is named Sorakaya Swami.
Sorakkayala is one of such yogis who came to Narayanavanam on his way back journey from Tirumala.
Some say that his name is Ramaswamy.
He will give off the food to the dogs and won’t take anything for himself.

He looked like an eccentric beggar, begging from door to door and village to village, with a big turban and matted hair on his head, eyes flickering, the beard of grey hair tied in a knot.with the neem leaves and turmeric powder and some herbs, he put an end to the black magic and saved many lives who were suffocating in that village.
He was an excellent fortune teller.
He used to tell the past, present, and future of the people who came crossed him.
He used to sit before a small fire (which is still burning like the sacred Dhuni at Shiridi Sai baba Temple) for hours and soothed the hearts of the devotees by giving Vibhoothi (holy ash).

The details about his birthplace, caste, and creed, names of his father and mother, etc. are not known to anybody. He took Jeevasamadhi in the month of august 1902, the 9th day, and in Aadimaasam, Asth Nakshutram, Garuda Panchami day as per tamil calendar.

This place is an abode for one form Datta incarnation Sorakaya swami who had helped many people with healing health problems and relieved people from negative energies.
Every full moon day and new moon day pooja is performed for him to solve the mental and health problems of the people.
Sorakaya Swami took jeeva Samadhi in this ashram and said to help believers from here.
Dhuni vibhuthi is given as prasad is used to cure diseases and health problems.
There is another belief that if we pray and tie Surakai (bottle ground) in the temple,(there are areas to hang the vegetable), some miracles may happen.
