Tulsi

According to the Tulsi shiva Purana, Tulsi should not be created for any reason to Shiva. The reason is that in mythology, this tulsi is considered to be a tree for Lord shiva by a monster named Jalandhar. Therefore, it is better for shiva to avoid this.


Coconut water 

But, it has been followed for a long time that coconut water should not be made for Shiva. The reason is that we offer coconut water to Lord shiva as an offering and we drink it. Therefore this should be avoided. In the Puranas, Lord shiva refers to saffron as the 'God of Destruction.


Tumeric

Turmeric should not be made with yellow for shiva during maha Shivaratri. It is noteworthy that it should not be placed as an offering to shiva as it is used for female beauty.



Devotees of Lord shiva can leave for Lord shiva during maha Shivaratri and eat vegetables, fruits, and pulses. Also, it is best to use rock salt instead of regular salt. Potatoes can be cooked and eaten without the addition of onions, garlic, and spices.
