History of Celebrating Rakhi Festival???
According to vishnu Purana, once king Bali invited Lord vishnu to stay in his palace. Lord vishnu also accepted this request of Bali and started living with king Bali. During his stay in the palace, Lord vishnu was very pleased with the service of king Bali and asked Bali to ask for a boon.
After this, king Bali asked Lord vishnu for such a boon which became heavy for Goddess Lakshmi. Lord vishnu also got caught in such a delusion due to his boon that he could not find any way out of it. So let's know what is Raksha Bandhan and the connection of this boon.
According to the legend, king Bali asked for a boon from god that whenever he looks anywhere, only Lord vishnu should be visible to him. god gave this boon to king Bali and started living with him.
Due to Lord vishnu living with the king, lakshmi became worried and told the whole thing to Narada. Then Narada told Mata lakshmi the way to bring back Lord Vishnu. Narada told Mata lakshmi that you make king Bali as your brother and ask Lord vishnu as a return gift.
After listening to Narada, lakshmi went to king Bali in disguise and started crying as soon as she went near him. When king Bali asked Mata lakshmi the reason for crying, she said that she has no brother, so she is crying. After listening to this, the king said from today I am your brother. lakshmi then tied a rakhi to king Bali and asked for his Lord vishnu as a return gift from brother. Since then this holy festival is celebrated.
