Ganapati was born on the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. The festival starts on this day and lasts for ten days. During this, Bappa is enshrined in the puja pandals and at home and he is duly worshipped. His idol is immersed on the tenth day.

Durva should always be offered in pairs on the head of the Lord. Never keep Durva on his feet. Make a knot by joining two durva and take about 22 such durva and make 11 pairs of it by making a knot. If you want, you can also offer Durva with 3 or 5 knots.

If the mantra is not chanted while offering Durva to Ganapati, then its fruit is not obtained. Therefore, whenever you offer Durva to Ganapati, one of these mantras must be chanted.
