Record crowd of devotees gathered in sabarimala, more than 1 lakh people will visit today

Sabarimala Temple: More than two lakh devotees have visited sabarimala in the first six days of this pilgrimage. The way ticket booking is being done, it is known that the number of devotees will increase even more in the coming days.


There was a record booking for darshan in the sabarimala temple today i.e. on Monday, after which a crowd of more than one lakh devotees gathered in the temple. According to temple officials, 1,07,260 people have booked darshan for Monday. Keeping in mind the huge crowd, elaborate security arrangements have been made.


Devotees will be taken from Pampa to Sannidhanam in a controlled and staggered manner. For this, police officers have been deployed at every point. The section rotation is a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident due to the crowding of devotees. Light food and drinking water will be provided to the devotees waiting in the queue. Apart from the police, the services of RAF and NDRF personnel will also be used to control the traffic, said sabarimala Special Officer Harishchandra Naik.


The darshan timings have been extended by one hour, officials said. About 77,216 people had made online bookings for sabarimala Darshan on december 13 and 64,617 on december 14. Around 60,000 people visited sabarimala till 5 pm on Saturday. Earlier on november 24, over 2.5 lakh pilgrims visited the Lord ayyappa temple at sabarimala in Kerala's pathanamthitta district in the first six days of the ongoing pilgrimage season, kerala Devaswom department minister K Radhakrishnan said.


 2,61,874 pilgrims visited sabarimala in the first six days of this pilgrimage season. There are indications of an increase in the number of devotees in the coming days. The portals of the Lord ayyappa temple at sabarimala were thrown open to devotees on november 17 for the annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku festivals, marking the beginning of the two-month-long annual pilgrimage season.
