Going to visit Lord Ganesh, then how many rounds necessary?

Lord Ganesh arrived, and at this time people were seen making long queues in temples and pandals to see Bappa. We do have darshan but the most important thing that we do not pay attention to is 'parikrama'.

The festival of ganesh chaturthi is very special in Hinduism. It is celebrated as a festival for the entire 10 days along with the festival and then Bappa is immersed. This year Ganesh Chaturthi is starting from 7th September and Ganesh Visarjan will be done on 17th September. During the 10-day Ganeshotsav, devotees visit and worship Bappa. For this, everyone reaches pandals and temples. But usually, we do not pay attention to the parikrama of Ganesh ji, which is the most important. In ancient Sanatan Dharma, doing parikrama is considered very important. When you go to see Ganpati, do not forget to do parikrama. But the question arises that how many parikramas should be done around Lord Ganesha. Its answer is mentioned in the scriptures, let us look into the evidence of the scriptures.

According to "Bahvach Parishishtone should do parikrama of Ganeshji-

'Ekam Vinayake Kuryat'

Meaning:- Lord Vinayak should be circumambulated once.

But according to "Granthantara"-

'Tistrah Karya Vinayake ॥'

According to this saying, the option of three parikramas is also respectable.

Narada Purana (Purvardha Chapter No. 13) also describes doing parikrama three times –

'Tisro Vinayakasyaapi'

Meaning:- Lord Vinayak should be circumambulated three times.

If we observe, more emphasis has been given to three parikramas, because three parikramas have been described more often. If there is lack of time or three parikramas cannot be done due to some other reason, then one parikrama can also be done.
