Dussehra: Know All About The Festival!!!
Every year, after the navratri celebration, people celebrate dussehra as a representation of good triumphing over evil. The Hindu calendar states that the tenth day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin is when the festival of vijayadashami is celebrated. For this reason, it's also known as Vijayadashami. This year, on october 12, 2024, at 10:58 AM, the tenth day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin will commence. It will end on october 13, 2024, at 9:08 AM. The Udaya Tithi states that october 12 is when the dussehra event will take place. dussehra is celebrated with considerable fervor each year.
Ayudh Puja Muhurat
Many places have a practice of worshiping weapons on Dussehra. During the auspicious timing of dussehra, Shastra Puja is conducted. This year, the devotion will take place during the auspicious hour of 2:02 PM to 2:48 PM. The lucky period will last for about forty-six minutes in total.
Ravan Dahan Muhurat
Effigies of Lankapati Ravana, his son Meghnath, and brother Kumbhkaran are burnt on Dussehra. It is necessary to light these effigies at the appropriate time for them to be regarded as auspicious. The best time to burn these effigies on vijayadashami is at sunset. This year, october 12th from 5:45 PM to 8:15 PM is the fortunate time to burn them.
2024 dussehra Puja Vidhi
Get up early on dussehra, take a bath, and change into fresh clothes. Make an idol out of lime or wheat for Dussehra.
From cow dung, make two bowls and nine balls. Coins should go in one bowl; roli, rice, barley, and fruits should go in the other.
Present the deity with radishes, barley, jaggery, and bananas. Incorporate these sacrifices if you are worshiping weaponry or account books as well.
Once the ceremonies are over, give what you can and feed the hungry.
Give your family members a leaf from the shami tree once the effigies are burned.
Lastly, touch your elders' feet and ask for their blessings.
